Many people use sunscreen incorrectly, which reduce its effectiveness. So, what is the proper way to apply sunscreen?


1. The first thing you need to consider prior to applying sunscreen is to look the number of SPF in it. For Indonesian women’s skin, SPF 15 is sufficient to protect the skin from direct exposure to UV rays. Although the texture resembles a lotion that we use everyday, sunscreen has different application methods.


2. Sunscreens should be applied 30 minutes before sun exposure. This method is useful for maximize sunscreen efficacy. Applying sunscreen less than the required time, your skin will not receive maximum UV protection.


3. The other thing we need to remember is you need to reapply sunscreen every two hours. Don’t forget hidden areas like neck, hands and feet.


So, what are the benefits of sunscreen use? Why we should wear it?


UV rays are invisible rays that are part of the energy that comes from the sun. UV rays can burn eyes, hair, and skin, if they are not protected, or if they get too much sun exposure. UV rays also play a role in the development of skin cancer. However, before that worst-case scenario happened, the skin will experience a gradual deterioration process, among which are aging prematurely.
