This is Not Your Usual Diet

April 10, 2014

Atkins diet, frutarian diet, Dukan diet, you’ve tried everything but your weight stays the same. You obviously have not tried this diet.

Blood type diet does not only help us lose weight but also increases your immune system against allergies and diseases, chooses the right exercise for you, and of course helps you achieve overall good health.

Why is this diet considered effective? Because everyone has different metabolism, and blood types represent the unique characteristics of it. For example, people with blood type A has difficulties processing red meat, therefore instead of turning the meat into energy, the body turns it into fat which leads to the build up of cholesterol. That is why people with blood type A usually have heart disease or high blood pressure.

What makes this diet easy is that there is no necessity to count calories or fat consumed. The only difficulty you might be facing is the fact that you have to get used to consuming or avoiding food, according to the “rule” of your blood type. But categorizing your food is definitely much easier with this diet: Avoid, Safe, and Best. Here’s a brief explanation of each type.

Type O. (Meat Eater)

This type usually has low thyroid hormone level and often needs more iodine, a chemical element that helps with the distribution of thyroid hormone. The side effects are weight gain, bloatedness, and fatigue. Eat more seafood and seaweed. Gastric acid is also usually higher than other blood type, which often causes stomach and intestines irritation. Choose low carb, high protein (especially meat and fish) meal, fruits, and veggies. Avoid: wheat, Brazilian nuts, oranges, and dairy products that usually cause digestion problems. Replace coffee with green tea. Do more high intensity exercise because this blood type usually has higher stress level, thus it needs to be released through proper exercise. Try running, weight lifting, brisk walking, or even the combination of those three in the high-intensity GRIT Series in Gold’s Gym. For maximum results, try dynamic GGX classes or GRIT Series thirty to forty five minutes, four times a week. If you are the type that gets bored easily, choose two or three different exercises and alternate the routines.

Type A. (More Veggie)

It is important for blood type A to consume natural, fresh, and –if possible- organic food, due to the sensitivity of its immune system. The right eating habit will increase the level of immune system while thwart the development of some diseases.

Do not skip a meal time, especially breakfast. Avoid red meat, consume more fish and vegetables, do not consume dairy products. Limit sugar, caffeine, and alcohol intake. Eating frequently in small portions helps stabilize the level of your blood sugar. Certain conditions such as tiredness and the lack of sleep will rapidly increase the stress level and mental exhaustion of blood type A. This is due to the high level of cortisol hormone. You are advised to choose more relaxing and calming exercise such as Yoga, Tai-chi, and meditation.

Type B. (Low carbo)

Slowly but surely, eliminate chicken off of your menu…

Avoid corn, wheat, nuts, tomatoes, and grains because they can trouble your metabolism process, cause tiredness, bloatedness, and hypoglycemia –blood sugar drops too low after eating. Like we’ve stated above, avoid chicken and substitute it with the Best choices such as mutton, lamb, or rabbit. Also, consume green vegetables, eggs, and low-fat dairy products.

Choose exercises that will stimulate the brain as well as the body. Blood type B needs to balance between meditation and high-intensity exercise. Try tennis, martial arts -try Capoeira, BCT, or the martial-arts-based Body Combat in Gold’s Gym-, cycling (RPM class sounds like a choice), hiking, and golf.

Type AB. (Two in One)

Avoid caffeine and alcohol especially when you are stressed.

Tipe AB is sometimes like type A, sometimes type B, basically a combination of the two. Low gastric acid like A, but react towards meat like B. That is why the red meat consumed is stored as fat. Focus on tofu, seafood, dairy products, and green vegetables if you intend to lose weight. Avoid processed meat such as corned beef, ham, sausages, bacon, smoked beef, and the likes.

The best is fish such as mahi-mahi, red snapper, salmon, sardines, and tuna. Some dairy products such as yogurt and kefir. You are advised to eat periodically in small portions. Try to combine a few types of food, such as protein and carbohydrate, in one menu. For exercise, combine calming activities with physical activities. For example, three days of GGX classes or running and two days of Yoga or Tai-chi.

So we can safely say that your blood type is your own personal nutritionist which can make you live healthier through the right combination of food and exercise. Ready to try it, A?
